Get Jiro! by Joel Rose and Anthony Bourdain

Get Jiro! by Joel Rose and Anthony Bourdain, 160 pages

In a not-too-future Los Angeles, food reigns supreme.  Like, literally.  For entertainment, people go to restaurants, kill for reservations at the most elite places, and the town is ruled by two opposed chef-mafias.  Jiro, however, is a rebel sushi chef- unaligned with either group, his sushi-making skills are coveted by both dangerous groups.  Jiro wants no part of the madness, but when it pulls him in, both groups find out how dangerous he is and how serious he is about sushi.

This book is fun and humorous, but there is also alot of food and foodie-related humor and information that could appeal to food network viewers.  (The homage to Jiro of Jiro Dreams of Sushi is especially a nice touch.)
