Surrender by Amanda Quick - 384 pages
Victoria has sworn that she will never marry - not after seeing the fortune hunters that successfully married and ruined her mother and aunt. She has become very good at detecting the hunters that are after her for her money. Until she meets Lucas. He seduces her with the promise of adventures in London after midnight. Slowly, she begins to fall in love with him and even decides when they are caught that the resulting marriage is a good thing. That is before she discovers right after the wedding that Lucas is penniless and came to London to find a heiress.
I really enjoyed this book. It was the first book I've read in an e-book format. I enjoyed the story and resulting war that occurred between the characters when Lucas' true intentions finally came out. The only issue I had was that I figured out who the villain of the story was back in the first chapter - it was a matter of determining the motive.
