As the Crow Flies - Craig Johnson

As the Crow Flies by Craig Johnson - 320 pages

The eighth Walt Longmire mystery opens with Walt and Henry on the reservation scouting the location for Walt's daughter Cady's wedding.  They witness a woman plunge to her death from a nearby cliff and find her baby that miraculously survives the fall.  Walt is drawn into the tribal police's murder investigation and has to balance his duty towards solving the murder with his duty towards his daughter and her wedding.  The new character of Chief Lolo Long adds a fresh voice to the series and provides a mechanism for meditations on the effects of military service on relationships along with background on the governance of the Cheyenne reservation.
