Pall in the Family by Dawn Eastman

Pall in the Family by Dawn Eastman

295 pages
The first book in a new series - A Family Fortune Mystery.  An easy reading mystery novel featuring Clyde (shortened from Clytemnestra) Fortune. Clyde has come home for a short stay while on hiatus from her job as a police officer. Unfortunately for Clyde, "home" means to her family home - with both parents, an Aunt, and a nephew. Cyde's mother and aunt are both part of the town's primary business/tourist industry - the supernatural. Her mother does tarot readings and her aunt is a pet psychic.  Clyde has some supernatural talent herself, but she has chosen to ignore it.

The story begins with Clyde on her new, temporary job as dog walker.  As she makes her daily rounds with her nephew, they stumble upon a the murder.  Suddenly she is back on the job (though unofficially) as an investigator.  When a second murder happens, and the local police don't seem to be any closer to solving either case, Clyde decides that maybe it is time to use her special talent.

It is a very fun story with a little romance thrown in - but nothing graphic!
