This tells an original story of the high school years of Buffy the vampire slayer. Buffy misses her old life before becoming a slayer and worries that her friends don't really care for her.
I picked this up after seeing it on the 2017 YALSA Great Graphic Novels for Teens list. I enjoyed Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a television show and have always liked Faith Erin Hicks as a graphic novelist. It was a fairly decent graphic novel although I thought it was really too short. The short length didn't allow for true development instead merely telling us the story rather than revealing it through the details.
