“metals” she is still pursuing the hope that her father is still alive. All
ends well and there is definite resolution and there is even promise for
another book to be forthcoming with series.
The Frog Who Lost his Underpants by Juliette Maciver 32
This book was a huge disappointment from the story to the
ullustrations, I had high hope for this book because all kids love a books with
underpants…they think the word is so funny! The colors in this pictures are
muted and the story gets long winded! Frog is searching through the jungle
trying to find his underwear only to find a bunch of other small frogs that had
them and stole his idea too.
Down by the Barn by Will Hillenbrand 40
A tractor with a wagon picks up the animals one by one as they
all head down to the bus stop to meet all the kids for an afternoon of playing
at the treehouse.
It’s Okay to Make Mistkes by Todd Parr 32
I love this book! It reminds not only kids but adults too that
it is okay to make mistakes. The text is simple and the little lessons tucked
within remind readers of the all the good things that can come from mistakes also.

A little girl is tucked into bed with her stuffed animals and
the ensuing pages are filled with large print and circus girl on stage with all
of her amazing stunts. Closing pages
remind readers that it must all be a dream as they see a little girl tucked

Josie is confinced to a camp in Mizzou where they type O population is being
held. Niko sets out to find and set free Josie.
Without any real spoilers to those reading the series…lets just say
everyone ends up at Niko’s Uncle’s farm along with a few other welcome
surprises!

Loved this book proably because I loved Anne Frank’s story so much as I
was growing up. I love reading about world war II and I loved Liesels passion
for books and words, and the correlation that she makes about how words can do
so much so much good and so much harm. The characters were brought to life with
the authors detailed writing and emotion…just a great read and glad I read it.
The Harbinger 252
Nouriel is a writer who has been confronted by an ancient prophecy that
dictates America’s future. The prophetic correlations at times seem to be a bit
of a stretch but they do certainly make you think. And when presented with past
real life dates you cant help but wonder if there is truth hiding in this fiction.

This book was just weird, the first pages were promising but the book
seemed to stop and restart each time when the animals did not do what was
expected. I think it was meant to humourous but the title just falls flat.

lot of leaves is make jumping piles and crafts! Kids will be excited to make

I was so excited for this book! With a brightly colored cover and glitter
spiderweb..I had high expectations, but all I found were forced rhymes and a
mediocore storyline.

A classic Caldecott winner, the
part I love about this book is not that it is simple and straight forward, but
that the illustrations are so simple yet complex…The pages where the train is
in the darkness and buzzing through the city are my favorites, as the colors
merge into one creating the illusion of movement.

than just reacing champions! Loved this book and the message to little ones.

coal and oil. Readers are introduced to trains, cars, and all different types
of passengers.

Trees fill each pages each one depicting a different “painting” as
branches in the sky, some are colorful, some are sparse, and some are homes for
little creatures.

I wanted to like this book but it made little sense and all of the rhymes
seemed forced and contrived. A class is on a field trip to the pumpkin patch
and numbers and counting is the idea that is reinforced on each page…. Yes it
has pumpkins on the cover, no it is not good.

Every where baby goes he hears the words Whoa baby whoa…Climbing on
shelves, heading to the kitchen trying to take Grandpas glasses, but every one
starts to yell go baby go when baby is no longer crawling but up on two feet

A little girl has come to the conclusion that she wants to be a dog when
she grows to believe that her family treats their dog better. She does want to
have manners and be told what to do….she wants to be cuddled and allowed to run

When a town begins to get phone calls from heaven the town is in
disbelief and one person in particular. Sully a former air captain lost his
wife when he tragically had to eject from his plane, and with anger boiling
inside him he is convinced the heaven phone calls are fake and he is determined
to prove it. What he will come to unveil and believe will take him on a
spiritual journey that he is been searching for so very long. I will close with my favorite line in the
entire book…You don’t need proof when you already believe.

When Lizzie and Charles Dad brings home a puppy from a fire, the kids are
determined to show mom that they can handle the responsibility, but when it is
clear that mom will not let them keep the dog, they come up with an alternative
plan that involves the neighbor.
Although the puppy does not stay with them, then ending leaves all
involved satisfied.
Fluffy Goes to School by Kate McMullan 40
Fluffy is not thrilled when he awakens in a cage at school
classroom, he is confused and less then
thrilled when he gets dressed in baby clothes…Fluffy daydreams of wild
adventures for himself and it will leave readers giggling as they think of him
as a spy or astronaut.

world around them. Sea Urchins go in and out and polar bears can be hot and cold but everyone
knows they like it best cold! Closing pages are filled with non fiction facts
and a recap on the opposites learned in the story.

Dasiy McDaniel is part of a government program that has been part of her
life since she was 4. After a tragic school bus accident Dasiy and some other kids
are revived aby drug that brings people back from the dead…And when Daisy is
again relocated after dying yet again, she takes the opportunity to make new
friends…and with new friends her life takes on a new direction. New friends Audrey and Matt make her question
her entire life, and the lie that it is. While I like this book I kept holding
out for an ending that I was never going to get…I guess all books cannot have
happy endings
The Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland 32
The animals want to play in the cave but bear is too busy sleeping after
disturbing him once they are all convinced they know what it is that bear needs
to make him happy and want to play….but only one animal is quite selfless
enough to see what bear really needs. Sheep may be considered boring but it is
her offering that wins bear over in the end.
The Krazees by Sam Swope 32
This wacky, rhyming, tale with monsters on each page made little
sense….Little creatures take over a house and the text ask readers about wacky
non existent feelings to see if they too know the Krayzees? Not worth the time
to re-read and try to make sense of it L
